How do Orthique clear aligners work?

Orthique Orthodontists create a custom treatment plan using both top and bottom aligners. Each set of clear aligners make minor adjustments to your smile by placing light pressure on certain parts of your teeth. Each set of aligners progressively move your teeth into alignment as directed by your treatment plan. Your Orthique orthodontist will map out when to change each aligner for your entire treatment.

Does Orthique Ship internationally?

No, Orthique clear aligners are currently only available in the U.S.

How long does treatment last?

Each treatment plan is customized base on your teeth and therefore varies in length. The typical clear aligner treatment is designed to be used for 3 to 10 months.

How do I contact if I have questions?

The Orthique care team is available 5 days a week. Please email support@orthique.com or call us at 973-472-4900. If you get through to our voicemail, please leave us a message with your name, number and reason for calling. We do listen to these daily and will try to get back to everyone within 24 hours. You can also submit a question via our online messenger for a prompt response.

Can I just do one aligner on my upper or lower teeth?

In order to maintain your correct bite, both your upper and lower teeth must be adjusted by the orthodontist. Your bottom and top teeth need to maintain their alignment in order to achieve a coordinated bite. Wearing just one aligner instead of both could put you at risk for altering your bite in a negative way.

What is the breakdown of pricing?

Our Orthique Boutique scanning centers offer a complimentary scan to show you how your teeth will look after treatment. Once your final treatment plan is ready, you can get started with a full or monthly payment option. See our full pricing page for full details.

Is my evaluation process refundable?

Your scan center visit is complimentary, with no upfront cost. Once you visit one of our convenient scan centers, our orthodontist will determine if Orthique is a good fit for you. If our doctors determine that your case does not qualify for Orthique, you will receive personalized feedback notes from our doctor to inform you with recommended steps to improve your smile.

Are there payment plans?

Yes! Orthique partners with Klarna™ to provide a monthly payment option that starts as low as $89 per month for 24 months. Your exact monthly payment will be determined based upon your credit history, but even though you’re paying monthly, you’ll always get your aligners in one upfront shipment. Klarna™ accepts payment by debit card, a linked checking account, or personal check.

*State law in West Virginia and Iowa currently prohibits residents from using Affirm.

Is there a money back guarantee?

If our orthodontists determine that your case is not a good fit for Orthique clear aligners, we will refund 100% of your costs for the impression kit. If you paid for your aligners upfront at our scan center and our orthodontists determine that your case is not eligible for Orthqiue, we will refund 100% of your purchase.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

Insurance

Can I use insurance to pay for my clear aligners?

Yes. Many dental plans provide orthodontic benefits. You may be reimbursed directly from your insurance company after you have purchased your aligners. If you are interested to find out if your dental plan covers your aligners, click here. After you purchase your full aligner treatment, Orthique will file your claim on your behalf.

How does the insurance claim process work?

The Orthique support team will first consult with your insurance to confirm that your dental policy includes an orthodontic benefit and covers clear aligner treatment. Once you’ve purchased your aligners and we’ve checked that you’re covered, we’ll file a claim on your behalf. You will first pay for your Orthique clear aligners out of pocket. After this payment is made, our team can bill your insurance provider to reimburse you. We make sure that your provider will mail the reimbursement checks directly to your address. As an FYI, most reimbursements are paid over a few installments, although this process can vary from one provider to another.

What if my insurance claim is denied?

Insurance providers usually give a projected reimbursement amount. Most customers receive exactly what their insurance company projected. However, there are instances where insurance providers require extra information before mailing you the reimbursement checks. In these uncommon instances, the Orthique support team will work with you to maximize your coverage. If your insurance provider sends you requests for additional information, please send a copy of these documents to our support staff support@Orthique.com so that we can supply you with any additional information you may need to amend your claim.

I have a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA), can I use this for Orthique clear aligners?

Yes. We accept FSA and HSA debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, & Discover). Some accounts require evidence to approve your purchase. In these instances, please contact our support team at support@orthique.com. Our team can provide a detailed invoice to submit to your FSA/HSA.

Is Orthique Right for Me?

Am I a good candidate for Orthique?

Orthique clear aligners work best for mild to moderate teeth corrections. Typically, our doctors approve approximately 80% of cases submitted. This thorough review ensures that your smile will have a successful result with Orthique. With that said, some cases cannot be treated with an “at-home” approach. If our orthodontists determine that your case is too complicated for our clear aligners, we will happily refund your money or recommend you utilize Orthique PLUS. Orthique PLUS is our orthodontic solution product for “complex cases” – it allows patients to make in person visits to our New Jersey offices during the course of their treatment to complete the necessary additional work your case would need for a successful outcome.

What is the minimum age to get Orthique clear aligners?

Our minimum age requirement is 15 years old.

What if I have a dental implant?

The Orthique orthodontists review patients with implants on a case-by-case basis before you are approved for aligners. If our doctors determine aligners or braces aren’t a fit for your needs, we will advise you on other possible smile correction options.

What if I still have my wisdom teeth?

The Orthique orthodontists review patients who still have their wisdom teeth on a case-by-case basis before they are approved for aligners. If your dentist has recommended removal of wisdom teeth, we ask that you complete this before requesting an impression kit or visiting our scanning centers. If you recently had your wisdom teeth removed, you typically need to wait six weeks before starting with Orthique.

What if I am missing teeth?

The Orthique orthodontists review patients who are missing teeth on a case-by-case basis before they are approved for aligners.

Can I wear aligners if I am pregnant?

Although pregnancy doesn’t rule out the use of clear aligners, our orthodontists recommend waiting until after pregnancy to undergo clear aligner treatment. In many women, pregnancy can cause teeth to shift – requiring additional aligners. In addition to this, some pregnant women have reported increased discomfort with clear aligners. We recommend waiting until after pregnancy to get the perfect smile you’ve always wanted.

What if I have a permanent retainer?

If you have a permanent retainer, you must have it removed by your local dental professional before beginning any teeth alignment treatment.

What’s the difference between Orthique and Smile Direct Club?

The biggest difference between Orthique and other conventional clear aligner companies such as Smile Direct Club is that Orthique still keeps a local doctor involved! Other companies may have doctors managing your case from remote locations – leaving you exposed for mismanagement of your treatment. Orthique on the other hand, has real brick and mortar locations surrounding our scan centers, equipped with real state licensed orthodontists that you can actually visit if you have a question or concern. Orthique provides all the benefits of a low cost aligner solution, while still providing an actual doctor you can talk to if need be. Ultimately, we believe patients deserve the opportunity to discuss their case in person if they choose, to ultimately yield the ideal result.

My teeth have been scanned, what happens next?

How long will it take for my aligners to arrive?

Once purchased, it takes about 4 weeks until you receive your full aligner treatment kit. We manufacture our aligners right here in the US, to ensure top quality, as well as a speedy delivery to get you started with treatment as soon as possible.

What is Orthique PLUS?

I was recommended for Orthique PLUS, what does this mean?

Our state licensed orthodontists review each case thoroughly before making a decision to qualify a patient for Orthique. Some patient’s smiles are more complicated than others and require 1-4 in-office visits to ensure ideal outcome. These patients have bites and teeth issues that cannot be resolved with clear aligners alone. In fact, these more complicated patients could risk serious consequences to their bite if they were to complete aligner treatment without additional work. Orthique offers these office visits as part of the cost of Orthique PLUS, to make sure risks are avoided.

What can I expect at an office visit?

The additional work done for Orthique PLUS patients at our offices will vary from patient to patient. In most cases, a painless procedure known as Interproximal Reduction (IPR) is performed. IPR is a painless way to reshape the contact area between neighboring teeth. For example, a patient with severe crowding may need some mild IPR in one office visit to ensure that his or her smile looks perfect.

Do I have to pay extra for Orthique PLUS?

The standard cost of Orthique clear aligners is $1950. The cost of Orthique PLUS is $2600. The additional cost includes up to four in-office visits if need be. Orthique PLUS offers patients with more complex cases the opportunity to still get a perfect smile for significant savings compared to Invisalign and traditional braces. If our orthodontists deem your case to be an “Orthique PLUS” case – this program allows our doctors to take the steps necessary to make sure that you can get the extra attention your smile needs in order to have a successful result.

What can I expect during treatment?

Do I need to visit the office if I am not an Orthique PLUS patient?

Patients who qualify for the standard Orthique clear aligner treatment are not required to make any office visits. You may always arrange free video teleconference with your orthodontist throughout treatment if you have questions or concerns. However, if you would like to see your orthodontist in person at the office, there is an additional office visit charge of $150.

If our orthodontist qualifies you for our Orthique PLUS program, part of your treatment will include 1-4 office visits. Orthique PLUS is approved for patients with more complex cases – and therefore a few office visits are essential to ensure a successful outcome during treatment. The cost of these office visits is included with the Orthique PLUS program.

Who checks in with me during my treatment?

Our support staff follows your treatment and will reach out to you from time to time to ensure everything is going according to plan. If at any time you need to speak to your doctor or one of our support staff, please email support@orthique.com with your questions or call 974-472-4900. We are available 5 days a week.

How do I know when to switch aligners?

All of your aligners should be worn for 2 full weeks before progressing to the next set of trays. Switching to the next step prematurely can negatively affect your results. The 2-week wear schedule ensures that there is enough time for the safe movement of your teeth. Even if your aligners start to feel loose, do not switch your aligners until the 2 weeks has passed.

Orthique has partnered with remindalign™ – a Free App on the iOS and Android operating systems. remindalign™ allows you to set your start date for aligner wear. The app will send you push notifications every 2 weeks of when to change your aligner.

How do I clean my aligners during treatment?

Orthique provides you with a teeth whitening foam that also cleans your aligners. A recommended daily cleaning routine would be to remove and rinse each aligner with water, followed by filling with the Orthique foam before placing back in your mouth. We do not recommend brushing aligners with toothbrush or adding toothpaste, as this could leave a residue or compromise the clarity of the aligner.

* We do not recommend using alternative teeth whitening agents or gels as they may damage your aligners. Our Whitening foam consists of 3.5% hydrogen peroxide. Our doctors recommend that any other whitening product used should not exceed this amount of hydrogen peroxide to prevent sensitivity of teeth and gums.

Why don’t my aligners cover my molars?

Our aligners are designed to be as effective as possible while remaining comfortable for everyday wear. For these reasons, your aligners may not cover your back molars. This is completely normal and will not affect the outcome of your treatment. If you have specific questions or are experiencing severe discomfort, please contact our support staff and they will put you in touch with your orthodontist.

What happens if I lose an aligner?

If you lose one of your aligners, you can order a replacement right away. The cost for replacements is $30 per tray. If you do lose an aligner, it is important to contact our support staff right away, to make sure you don’t lose progress and keep you on track. To order a replacement aligner please email support@orthique.com. Please include your name and ID number of aligner that was lost.

What happens if my results are not looking like they did in my preview?

Every smile is unique, and we want you to achieve optimal results. In order to make sure we deliver that smile you’ve always wanted, our orthodontists may need to make updates to your treatment plan either during or after your procedure. If you are concerned that your braces are not producing results, we may ask you to come in for a consultation. A lack of progress could be the result of several factors, including missed orthodontic appointments, delayed tooth movement, or poor dental hygiene.
